Pre-Sales Consultant - Life Sciences/Quality Management

PROJECT:

Healthcare, a wholly owned subsidiary and brand of Dassault Systèmes is the leading scientific product lifecycle management software and services company. Our customer base includes the world’s largest pharmaceutical, biotechnology, chemical and petroleum companies.

This is a newly created opportunity to join our PreSales team where you will be responsible for supporting the technical evaluation of our QUMAS portfolio by customers and prospects and assisting other departments in addressing significant and strategic business opportunities for QUMAS solutions.

QUMAS is the leader in Compliance & Quality Management Solutions for Life Sciences, providing Electronic Document Management (SOPs, QA documents), Electronic Process Management (CAPA, Deviation, Change Control, Audit), and GxP Management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To be a key QUMAS subject matter expert responsible for responding to the technical elements of the proposal or RFP response
  • Provide pre-sales support to Sales representatives, including system configurations, integration feasibility analysis, technical aspects of proposals, and product presentations and demonstrations
  • Provide pre-sales technical support for OEM software sales including applications integration design, development assistance, and system implementation guidance
  • Craft the overall architecture of the solution in close teamwork with the account team
  • Provide technical guidance to other members of the proposal or response team to help ensure a quality proposal package
  • With the account team, assist in defining specifications & requirements and building customized demonstrations and presentations (for both technical and management-level audiences) directly related to the assigned opportunity
  • Interact with R&D and Marketing groups to provide customer support and ensure compatibility with all elements of the overall solution
  • Be well-versed in core QUMAS functionality and related networking, database, and operating environment technologies
  • Provide technical guidance to the Knowledgebase Administrator to ensure that up-to-date and accurate information is contained in the knowledgebase
  • Up to 40% European travel is a requirement for this role

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • A BSc in Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering or the equivalent experience in a related field
  • Prior experience in a pre-sales role architecting enterprise-level solutions
  • Strong knowledge of document management and workflow software market is preferred ideally with the QUMAS products or similar
  • Solid understanding of web technologies (web servers, application servers, site deployment/development, etc.)
  • Strong familiarity with Life Sciences industry especially Regulatory, R&D, and QA
  • Knowledge of and experience with design and/or development of web-based applications
  • Experience with the inner workings of Windows, SQL Databases, and Web Applications
  • Proven ability and desire to work in a team environment, with the ability to work independently as required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as strong presentation skills
  • Fluency in English is essential, with other European languages highly advantageous e.g. French, German or Italian
  • European travel will be a key aspect of this role and candidates must be able and willing to travel with overnight stays for up to 40% of the time.

Account Manager 

We are looking for a successful Account Manager who combines proven enterprise sales skills within the Pharma research, development and manufacturing market sector in Germany to join our successful EMEA Life Science Sales team, where you will be responsible for developing business in named Life Science accounts.

Highly competent at selling software solutions, you are successful in building new pipeline, through your understanding and translation of customer needs into deliverable solutions which enables you to close opportunities to deliver and over achieve on your targets.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Named Account development & solution based selling - build strategic relationships at the CIO/VP/Director level while engaging tactically within divisional or departmental groups to develop new enterprise level business opportunities and successfully close these.
  • Identify needs of the customer and propose enterprise solutions that provide a definite ROI and deliver improvements to our customer’s business processes
  • Coordinate and prepare meetings and demonstrations. Attend regional and international trade shows related to the territory
  • Close the sales of software and services, respond to formal tenders and drive successful contract negotiations.
  • Accurately forecast sales pipeline, meet and consistently exceed quarterly and annual sales target
  • Deliver superior customer service, following up with the customers on a regular basis. Perform in a team environment and co-ordinate with other departments to achieve targets and maintain customer satisfaction levels

 

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Qualified to degree level or equivalent in a life science discipline
  • Strong background in Life Science sales, with a focus on Research.
  • A successful track record at solution based selling in with a proven and demonstrable track record of consistently selling and closing new business.
  • Confident and capable of building account relationships at an Executive and Senior management level while engaging tactically within divisional or departmental groups
  • Able to fully understand the needs of your customers and prospects and to deliver formal presentations to them, driving enterprise level sales
  • Able to achieve and exceed set sales quotas on a quarterly basis and accurately forecast and manage your pipeline of sales opportunities and conversions.
  • A strong understanding of the sales process.
  • Competent in managing multi-level, European, complex sales opportunities.
  • Confident working with product managers, scientific specialists, sales representatives and clients.
  • Able to maintain a high level of knowledge on our products and solutions to represent the offerings across both the research and development space
  • Self-driven and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and to deadlines yet a highly visible team player partnering with and developing excellent internal relationships at all levels with the global organisation. .
  • Excellent interpersonal skills combined with strong organisational and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fluency in German and English essential.
  • Willing and able to travel significantly throughout your defined territory and further afield. Travel will play a major part in this role.
  • Knowledge of CRM systems e,g. Salesforce.com
  • Highly numerate and technical

Due to growth in our business plan for 2015, we have a newly created opportunity for an Account Manager to manage our sales activity in Central and Southern Europe, with a specific focus on the development of accounts in the German, Swiss, Belgium and Dutch territories.

Reporting to the Vice President of Field Operations, this position will be responsible for prospecting, developing and closing new business for our compliance and quality management solutions that focus on a broad range of requirements across the Life Science industries. These solutions address the electronic document control, quality and compliance requirements with regards to the various clinical phases from drug discovery and development to manufacturing all on a single platform.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven background in sales-hunting activities and developing new business.
  • A successful track record of selling large value, high margin deals which have been software centric (i.e. based on a core software application, with associated services).
  • Possess a track record of winning deals in both a direct and in-direct sales model.
  • Be a “deal maker” and highly efficient deal closer.
  • Experience in selling successfully in highly regulated industries (Life Sciences related).
  • Be able to work in an international environment, cognizant of the different sales, buyer practices and cultures.


The successful candidate must be willing and able to travel significantly throughout their territory and further afield. Travel will play a major part in this role.
